Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, says he doesn’t understand how wealthy people lose money.

On a episode of The Unnamed Show, he shared his belief that once you have real money, it becomes easier to make more. “I don’t know how people lose [money],” he said. “Once you have money, you just make more.”

Portnoy, worth an estimated $XXX million, says he lives without worrying about money. He owns a $XX million property in Nantucket, gambles frequently, and says his only financial rule is to have someone alert him if funds ever get tight. “Other than that, I’m buying horses, I’m buying houses, I’m just gambling, I’m just living,” he said.

He brushed off celebrity stories about people like Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars running into financial trouble. “How do you spend that much?” he asked. “Are you not investing it?”

Portnoy also responded to rumors that DraftKings funds his bets. “Anyone who’s been with me knows it’s my own money,” he said, adding that the emotions he shows during big wagers couldn’t be faked.

He recently won $XXXXXXX on a $XXXXXX bet tied to Caitlin Clark’s performance—nearly matching her four-year WNBA salary in one night.
