Most of that 'Secret Service' detail that day weren't Secret Service. 

They were DHS Homeland Investigations people pulled from behind desks.

They had NO TRAINING in close protection of a principle.  Their entire preparation for the rally where they were going to be deployed as bodyguards was ATTENDING A ZOOM CALL AND WATCHING A VIDEO where it's reported sound issues cut it short.
