Multiple media outlets reported that a leaked lab report from Dr Lal PathLabs in India, originally conducted for the International Boxing Association in March 2023, stated that Imane Khelif’s chromosome analysis revealed a "male karyotype"—meaning the presence of XY chromosomes, which are typically associated with males.

However, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not recognize these results as legitimate, called them "ad hoc" and "not legitimate," and allowed Khelif to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics after confirming she met their eligibility requirements.

It's important to note that while these reports about the leaked lab results have been widely circulated, the IOC and other major sports authorities have not independently verified or officially accepted them, and there is ongoing debate and legal action regarding their legitimacy and the broader issue of sex testing in sports.
