We are visible to alien astronomers

A study by the Royal Astronomical Society has shown that our planet glows brighter in the radio range than a flashlight in a dark forest. Our radar systems are to blame.

A team of scientists modeled the radar signals of the largest airports. It turned out that together they generate a signal with a power of 2×10^16 watts, and military systems add another 1×10^14 watts of directed radiation. This power is enough for us to be detected by radio telescopes like Green Bank even at a distance of XXX light years.

The results of the modeling showed that we are an easily visible target for any extraterrestrial civilization in the area. The researchers even calculated what our signals from the nearest stars (Barnard, HD 48948, HD 40307) look like and came to the conclusion that with technologies similar to those on Earth, we can definitely be noticed.

Radars can be classified as a universal sign of intelligent life. Any planet with aviation and air defense will sooner or later begin to "glow" in the radio range.
