I just finished reading a short but impactful read: The Book of Charlie (affiliate): It’s basically a condensed biography of a Kansas man who lived to XXX. He was a doctor by profession, but more importantly, he was a man who lived through it all: world wars, the Great Depression, the cultural revolution of the '60s, the tech/internet boom of the 90s/2000s etc. He also went through his share of hardships too: Lost his father as a boy, one wife to suicide, another to divorce. He's a crazy thought that struck me from the book: he was born when horse-drawn carriages still outnumbered cars... and died in the age of smartphones. Okay, so what was his secret to the “good life”? Surprisingly simple. #1) He just did stuff. In his words: “I just plowed along.” He didn’t waste much time thinking about happiness or over-analyzing life.
