Cisco makes networking equipment. That equipment must be made to an industry standard compatible with ALL its competitors equipment. They can innovate slightly on speed and efficiency but not much else. If you can’t use a Cisco switch with a Netgear router, the entire industry would be a mess. Meanwhile, Nvidia can innovate everywhere. The only standard Nvidia has to adhere to is the connection between the GPU and the rest of the computer. On its cards, there are NO standards. Nvidia can and will continue to innovate without having to get in alignment with the rest of the industry. There are many, MANY other reasons the comparison is invalid but the fact that they’re not remotely the same in terms of product stack is such a basic concept that anyone who understands the tech knows the comparison is idiotic, at best, and downright ignorant, at worst.
