They came to see the game,but they left with something much deeper. In front of more than XXXXXX people at the Texas State Arena, Jelly Roll turned the opening ceremony into an unexpected “tribute spectacle.” With just a black shirt, a guitar, and a heart full of emotion, he sang “Save Me” in memory of Diogo Mendes, the 24-year-old soccer player who found solace in Jelly’s music before every game. When footage of Diogo lit up the stadium screen,practicing, smiling, and chanting the lyrics with headphones on the crowd fell silent, and many cried. In that moment of suspension, Jelly Roll didn’t just honor a fan ,he let music carry a soul home on the wings of melody and love.
