I decided to spontaneously watch it alone on night as a teenager, and it miraculously started the whole process that led me to the faith of my ancestors. There is absolutely something supernatural involved in the writing of LotR, also in the making of the movies. Catholics, pagans, agnostics, lutherans, etc. It's funny how Tolkien unites the whole of Europe in the love of his works. Through LotR, we find our culture, our roots, and our faith. It speaks to us on a supernatural level. Not least, it draws us closer to nature and begins to heal the broken bond between ourselves and God’s green creation and our Fatherland, which has been given to us to care for, not to misuse. Even the birds and trees are all our friends to be loved simce God loved them first. Tolkien understood all of this on a very balanced, while yet radical level.
