Similar value ($55k + X cards ~$10k). Some thoughts as an owner in both worlds. A moment is a purest form captured in a collectible, while a card has art (which is why I’m hopeful to close the gap from card to art), configuration rarity and lineage. Logoman is highest form of memorabilia. LeBron has a self triple logoman card before, one logoman in each of champ winning teams. Ken Goldin even put it on Times Square and sold it for $2.4M. There is no blockchain version of it. From a god eye’s view, Panini could have done another triple logoman in this release instead of this, which would be milking and diluting. Instead, they did a dual, with two of teams capturing LeBron’s greatest moments. - Beating historically best team 73-9 Warriors and came back from 1-3 in Finals, first and only time ever in NBA history. - Career total score surpassing Jabbar (ex NBA number 1), Oscar Schmidt (ex world pro league + Olympics number 1), and 40000 pt (ex impossible). And explicitly emphasizing so in the caption on the back. Those two teams will be one LeBron going to Hall with and one LeBron concluding his career with (hopefully). The Heats one has less mindshare among fans and not part of LeBron narrative much these days in GOAT debate. Also the art can feature large full body action shot in dual instead of small head shot with teams unclear in triple. This is now first ever self dual logoman in hobby and so far only one (also the physical matching one in same look, but released separately). Instead of milking, a unicorn was produced. One season or even one game can have multiple great moments. In the card world, it’s one card for one season or even for one career. More encompassing. As a deep diver and ultimate fan in the hobby, I often want to photomatch the action shot which brings out more context (game and historical meaning) or even a video moment around that picture, but this is not commonly practiced and not needed for value proposition. But it also underlines for people like me who might want more context (or even finding out all info possible) about a collectible, a moment is very much viable as a collectible even if a relatively new IP. I will continue to cross discuss on assets among different platforms with different underlying objects and collectability. Hopefully encouraging some pairing endeavors, and using upsides of platforms to complement one another.
