And right now, that’s not what Canadians are getting. Inside the CBC, it appears dissent is discouraged. Editorial framing too often leans one way — a hard-left slant. This isn’t public service, it’s narrative management. Even though more and more of the public seem to be leaning toward broadcasters and publications that echo their politics, that is not the role of the national broadcaster.
