On this day in 1934, Peter Gzowski was born in Toronto.
Known as Captain Canada and Mr. Canada, he hosted This Country in the Morning and Morningside. He wrote XX books, received several honorary degrees, the Order of Canada and the Governor General's Performing Arts Award.
