She entered through the employee entrance. Inside, she approached Harris and began stabbing her repeatedly. Witnesses later told investigators that Muhammad delivered as many as XX stab wounds during the attack. Other employees tried to intervene and help Harris, but the attack was swift and violent.

After the stabbing, Muhammad ran toward her car in the parking lot. A customer in the drive-thru lane, who was legally armed, saw her trying to escape. He fired a warning shot into the air and managed to chase her down, holding her at gunpoint until police arrived.

Jennifer Harris was rushed to a nearby hospital but died from her injuries shortly after. Muhammad was arrested on the scene. The following day, July 11, she was formally charged with first-degree premeditated murder and carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent. She was denied bond and ordered held on a $XX million cash surety. A probable cause conference is scheduled for July 23, and a preliminary examination is set for July XX.
