A remote worker's viral Reddit post is calling out a trend online: bragging about doing the bare minimum while working from home.

Frustrated by posts about mouse jigglers and three-hour workdays, the user said people who value remote work are being put at risk. They warned that flexing about slacking only gives companies more reasons to enforce return-to-office policies.

The user said they choose to work long hours to show that remote workers can still be effective. They don’t care if others take it easy—but urged them to stop broadcasting it online.

“You posting about it only worsens even your own case and future,” they wrote.

The post sparked a major debate. Some argued they’re paid for results, not time. One said, “If I can do my job in three hours and stay on call, why not?”

Others agreed with the warning, saying companies use these posts as justification for layoffs or RTO demands.

Some pointed out that not all remote jobs are the same—some are non-stop, while others are project-based.

But many echoed the same thought: if you’ve got a cushy setup, enjoy it—but stop talking about it.

“WFH is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” the original poster wrote. “Don’t ruin it for the rest of us.”
