Open source and open-node systems (Linux, The Internet (vs AOL / Prodigy), and Bitcoin) have historically been the big winners. 

The same thing will happen in AI. 

$TAO will align incentives and coordinate the vastly-larger longtail and edges. 

Centralized AI will not be able to keep up.
