It was my honor to meet the heroic flight crew of the @USCG CG-6553. Lieutenant Ian Hopper and Aviation Survival Technician Third Class Scott Ruskan were awarded the Distinguished flying cross for their extraordinary heroism.

Lieutenant Blair Ogujiofor and Aviation Maintenance Technician Third Class Seth Reeves were awarded Air Medals for their heroic aerial flight.

Both Ruskan and Reeves were meritoriously advanced to Petty Officer Second Class.
