After watching several interviews and putting the puzzle pieces together, there are two realistic scenarios for Max Verstappen’s future:

Scenario 1:
Max stays at Red Bull Racing in 2026. He closely monitors the internal developments, especially the engine and overall package for the coming years. If RBR stagnates or declines, he could move to the top-performing team in 2027.

Scenario 2:
Max leaves RBR after this season and probably joins Mercedes. Looking at the history, Mercedes seems like the smart long-term bet. Both George Russell, Toto Wolff and the Mercedes-Benz Group CEO have publicly said to bringing the team back to the top and they need the best driver to do it. X + X = X.

Max is in his prime, so the next move has to be the right one, not just for 2026 but for his legacy.
