🇸🇰 SLOVAKIA THREATENS TO BLOCK NEW RUSSIA SANCTIONS

PM Robert Fico warned that Slovakia will veto the EU’s latest sanctions on Moscow unless Brussels provides clear compensation guarantees.

The dispute centers on the planned refusal to import Russian gas, something Fico claims could seriously damage Slovakia’s economy.

Fico:

“If there’s no guarantee of compensation, we will block the sanctions."

He’s demanding that the European Commission take responsibility for the fallout from any energy disruptions.

This sets up a potential clash within the EU as it pushes for tougher action on Russia.
