Putin Privately Backs ‘Zero Enrichment’ Iran Deal, Pressures Tehran

Russian President Vladimir Putin has told Trump, Macron, and Iranian officials he supports a nuclear deal banning uranium enrichment in Iran.

Despite Moscow’s public support for Tehran’s enrichment rights, Putin has privately urged Iran to accept “zero enrichment” since the recent Israel-Iran war. Russian officials reportedly conveyed this message to both Iran and Israel.

The U.S. is also expected to demand zero enrichment in any future nuclear talks. However, Iran insists on keeping enrichment rights.
