We all love Wonderboy but I just struggle to see him winning this fight against a young, hungry and super talented fighter in Gabriel Bonfim. Bonfim has great hands (was a pro boxer at one point), his grappling his excellent, he can snatch a front choke in any scramble, he’s got solid takedowns.. He just has lots of ways to win this fight. Don’t get me wrong if we get a XX minute kickboxing match, Wonderboy can absolutely get the job done (against anyone), I just worry about his chin on the feet (was doing well vs. Buckley until he got KO’d) and I worry even more about his ability to keep this a kickboxing match.. I know a lot of people will hold Bonfim’s loss to Nicolas Dalby against him but man, Dalby made a decision that he was willing to possibly get flattened in an effort to just overwhelm Bonfim and that’s not a performance that many guys can or would be willing to replicate even if they could and it’s certainly not Wonderboy’s style. That loss may have actually been a blessing in disguise for Bonfim as he looked career best in his latest performance against Khaos Williams… he was patient and relaxed but still aggressive on the feet, his jab and calf kick were working wonders and his grappling was as efficient as ever. He looked like a future title contender and I think he may be. It pains me to say but I see Bonfim finishing Wonderboy and I’ll say he is able to snatch up another front headlock choke as Thompsonis trying to return to his feet.
