Calvin Kattar (+102) vs. Steve Garcia (-122)

Here we have the UFC vet Calvin Kattar on a X fight losing streak facing the streaking prospect Steve Garcia, who is not only on a X fight win streak but a five fight KO streak! This one is extremely interesting because we can all agree that Kattar is technically the far superior fighter and he’s spent his entire career fighting a higher level of competition than his opponent in this one, but he’s now lost X in a row, one of those was a result of a bad leg injury that kept him out for a year, he is now XX and he honestly has just looked a few steps behind in his last two fights. Now across from him is a guy in Steven Garcia who is just an absolute madman. He approaches fights with one thing in mind and that’s to do damage. He throws everything and the kitchen sink at you with little regard to himself. That has gotten him in trouble before, just look at his fight with Maheshate, or even his fight with Shayilan where he was nearly finished, but if you don’t put his lights completely out, he just keeps coming and coming and he either knocks you out or forces the referee to pull him off of you... Typically I love spots like this where the more skilled vet is facing the new shiny toy with recency bias cooked into the line (and to be clear I fully expected to pick Kattar here before diving into film), yet here I am picking Steve Garcia. One of two things happens tomorrow, Kattar gives Garcia a vet lesson about fighting like a reckless bloodthirsty lunatic or Garcia is just too much for a guy whose best days are well behind him and I’m leaning towards the latter. Give me Garcia to go out there and rattle Kattar before he can kick it into gear and get a TKO (I’ll say a standing TKO).

Prediction - Garcia via Round X TKO
Estimated Win % - XX%
