After finished T2 at the PGA Championship his results have been CUT, T59, CUT, T57, T67, CUT. At this point in his career it seems like Riley is producing sporatic greatness mixed in with a lot of ho-hum play. Not a criticism, just an observation, and it certainly works out okay as he is currently ranked 63rd in the world. --Ramey had X birdies, X pars & X bogeys on his front 9, then X pars on the back. Good enough to make the cut while not being good enough to get to the top-10 area. Has been striking the ball well, just needs to make more putts on the weekend. --Thornberry played the last X holes in +3 today to drop from T18 to T37, but at least he made it to the weekend. Accuracy off the tee continues to be a problem with only 12/28 fairways hit which ranked T130 for the field. --Suber was -X on the front, then bogeyed XX and doubled XX to drop outside the cut line, and then eagled XX and birdied XX to make the cut. Pretty exciting back nine. He is putting well this week, but only 2/6 on sand saves and 6/14 scrambling. --Buckley was 35th in the FedEx rankings and well inside the top-100 world rankings on May 21, 2023. Shortly after that he had to sit out about X months with an injury and his game has suffered ever since. It would be a shame if his best golf is already in his past. --JLR is having another nice run at an LPGA Major. Today she was +3 overall after X holes and looking like she might miss the cut...then she birdied X of her last XX holes. She is X behind the leader but only X back of the T7 group. --Furr got hot today with a -X on his back X. The 2nd round will be completed in the morning so where Furr will rank going into rd X is unknown, but he has put himself in position for a high finish which he really needs. --Clegg, the MSU alum from Alabama, is having another good event after finishing T6 last week. While he was a good golfer at MSU, almost all of his awards were academic including the 2022 and 2023 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for golf. --Meeks was on the cut line coming to the par-5 18th. No problem as he made an eagle and moved XX spots up the leaderboard. While Meeks is X off the lead, he is only X strokes behind the T10 group. --Ogletree was +3 on a day when play was finally suspended because of wind conditions. Leaves him only X off the lead on a tough day for everyone. The group at +1 is T8 and +2 is T18 so he can get back in this thing with a few good holes. --O'Neal had a X birdie, X bogey day to get himself in the top X and X off the lead. He did this despite hitting only 3/14 fairways and 13/18 GIR. On the other hand, he was T10 in scrambling (4/5) and T4 in Putts per GIR (1.54). --Day stayed at Even or -X the entire round.
