$NVDA Stock-market breadth isn't looking too hot on Friday.

Of the XXX individual issues in the S&P 500, just XX were in the green recently, according to Dow Jones Market Data. That's on track for the lowest number of gainers in a single session since June XX.

If it weren't for Nvidia Corp. and a few other Big Tech names, the market would likely be much lower, a Mizuho Securities trader pointed out in emailed commentary shared with MarketWatch. Rising crude-oil prices also helped boost energy stocks, but outside of energy and information technology, every other S&P XXX sector was in the red on Friday
