Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee says Trump’s latest tariffs, including XX% on Canada and XX% on Brazil starting Aug 1, have clouded the inflation outlook, making rate cuts harder to support. Inflation rose XXX% in May, near the Fed’s X% goal, but Goolsbee says tariffs are “throwing more dirt back in the air.”
