REPORTS: Media sources have claimed that Linda's departure this week from X follows a year of Elon's losing confidence in her as CEO.

Sources close to Linda reportedly told the WSJ and Status news outlets:

- She had become a messenger for relaying advertisers' complaints about content moderation, which Elon "has no patience for"
- Over time this caused friction in their relationship, and Elon had put her on notice over a year ago
- They also clashed over working styles, with Linda preferring more professional presentations, and Elon going with informal emails and Signal messages
- Linda was further sidelined after X's merger with xAI, which indicated that AI revenues and not advertising were the company's focus. She reportedly decided this was a good time to depart.
