ECB PUSHES DIGITAL EURO AS SOVEREIGN ALTERNATIVE TO STABLECOINS

The European Central Bank is positioning the digital euro as a sovereign, private, and free-to-use alternative to cash, according to board member Piero Cipollone.

Designed to rival stablecoins, it promises EU control over payments and data pending legislative approval.
