Misunderstanding:
“Wave X must be the longest wave.”
Nope.

The rule is simple:
 Wave X must not be the shortest of waves 1, 3, and X.
That’s it.

Wave X is often the longest, but not always.
Confusing guidelines with hard rules is how people discredit good counts for the wrong reasons.
Precision matters.
So do definitions.
