I’ve known Bongino for a while, and was super stoked when he was tapped for Deputy Director. I appreciate Barnes’ insights, and he appreciates mine.

At this point, given the developments of the last week, I’m doubling down on my theory: Bongino is Mark Wahlberg from The Other Guys - a peacock that is not being allowed to fly.

Bongino does not have the luxury or the authority of being the ultimate decision-maker in this. Not even sure Patel has that authority. My assessment is that it’s on Bondi at this point. Only a question of whether or not it’s incompetence or malice on her part.

Trump’s response to the question from the journalist is merely him trying to take ownership of the situation, whereas I am thoroughly convinced this is something of a sabotage operation to undermine his cabinet, his FBI, and his presidency.
