Persistent challenges like traffic congestion, encroachments, flooding, and drinking water shortages are affecting thousands of IT professionals and residents. PMC, PCMC, PMRDA, and MIDC were instructed to collaborate closely and present a comprehensive, time-bound master plan focusing on road widening, ring roads, flyovers, better parking, enhanced public transport, and fast-tracking Metro works. To ease traffic, the Kaspate Wasti to Hinjawadi Phase X road will be developed as a dedicated corridor with all roads upgraded to cement concrete. Pending projects like Mahalunge IT City will be prioritized, and land acquisition for widening will be carried out fairly, in consultation with public representatives. A decision on 6-laning the Hinjawadi Elevated Road is expected within XX days. Key routes like Surya Hospital to Maan Gaothan will be widened, east-west connectivity strengthened, and plans for a Shivajinagar-Hinjawadi corridor, a public transport hub at Wakad-Balewadi, and footpath encroachment removal were also directed. Drainage and flood management plans will be finalized by next year. The mission is clear; upgrade infrastructure, resolve civic issues, and improve the quality of life for Pune’s thriving IT corridor.
