⚡️ Chaos erupts in Bolivia’s parliament over lithium deal with Russian company

In La Paz, lawmakers put on a full-blown show — dragging tables, snatching microphones, shouting, and climbing onto podiums. The reason? A contract with a Rosatom subsidiary to mine lithium in Potosí.

The opposition claims Bolivia’s natural resources are being handed off like items on eBay — without asking the people.

Protest signs read: “Lithium is not for sale” and “Don’t touch the lithium.”

Lawmakers say a similar deal with China was already pushed through — and now, it’s Russia’s turn at the table.
