BoG Eyes Bold Rate Slash: 300bps Cut to Fuel Growth Amid Falling Inflation.

A 300bps policy rate cut to XX% by the Bank of Ghana makes sense given the sharp drop in inflation to XXXX% this widens the real policy rate to 14.3%, well above neutral levels, so there’s room to ease. Lower rates can reduce borrowing costs, spur private sector credit, and support growth. 

But with FX stability still fragile and fuel levies likely rising in Q3, a cautious cut helps avoid feeding second-round inflation. Science says real rates must align with inflation trends so the easing cycle is justified, but should balance growth and currency risks
