Please step back for a moment and just contemplate how AMAZING modern technology is.

Below, I just sent a David Bowie lyric from "Space Oddity" to an ACTUAL FREAKING ASTRONAUT in orbit over our swirling blue marble.

If she wants to, she can read it.  And even reply.  If she wants.  AMAZING.

Not sure about you, but this leaves me in awe of a reality Jules Verne, Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlein only dreamed of.

Yes, we humans have Epstein, Gaza, Sudan, Texas floods, Ukraine and every other horrible or annoying aspect of our self-absorbed lives here on this tiny planet circling a giant Sun.

But we nevertheless reach out with our index finger and seek the unknown with certainty and without fear.

I love our species.
