"I wish I could tell you that time, I don't know that time," Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha tells a journalist who asked about a reported hours-long delay in local officials sending a code red alert being issued for the deadly flooding in Texas.

He says he wants those answers in an after-action report on the flood response and tells reporters: "Bear with me. We'll get them. I can't tell you in a week or two."
