Marcos Jr.’s directive to go after traffic violators, the Land Transportation Office (LTO), under the supervision of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon, has placed six sports cars in a viral video of racing along a public road in Tagaytay City. LTO Acting Chief Atty. Greg Pua stated that they are currently working on identifying all the drivers involved in the incident, which he condemned for putting the lives of other road users at risk. He explained that the identification process begins with the issuance of show cause orders to the registered owners of the six sports cars involved—two Mazda MX-5s, a Ford Mustang, a Nissan Z, a Chevrolet Camaro, and a BMW M4. “The SCOs were already issued to them. And part of this process is for them to identify and bring with them the drivers of these sports cars. Maaring yung registered owner ang mga yun, o ibang mga driver. At wala silang kawala dito dahil may video,” Pua said. According to Melitante, once the designated driver of each sports car is identified, a 90-day suspension of their driver’s license will be immediately enforced.
