The judge stated, “the rescinded sanctions are insufficient to demonstrate the defendant’s consciousness of guilt.” However, she is not expected to prohibit prosecutors from mentioning North Korea and the Lazarus hacking group. Storm faces charges of money laundering, operating an unlicensed money transmitter, and violating sanctions law. The trial will begin next Monday and could become one of the most significant legal events for the crypto industry following the cases against FTX, Binance, and Celsius executives.
