The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has discovered MoM-z14, one of the earliest known cosmic objects, shining just XXX million years after the Big Bang. Located about XXXX billion light-years away with a redshift of \~14, MoM-z14 offers a rare glimpse into the Cosmic Dawn—the era when the first stars and galaxies appeared.

Its surprising brightness and mass, equal to hundreds of millions of suns, challenge existing theories about early galaxy formation. The object may be undergoing intense star formation or powered by an early supermassive black hole. Spanning 1,500–2,000 light-years, MoM-z14 formed rapidly in the young universe.

Detected using JWST’s infrared instruments, the discovery, announced in 2025, highlights the telescope’s power to study the universe’s infancy and forces scientists to rethink how early galaxies grew and evolved.
