Decided to liquidate $JHX. The way they did the cost basis post merger, they changed the below and gave me a $XXXXX cost basis.

No thanks. No margin of safety there.

So this means all of the XXX% gain was taxable with that cash distribution. 

I hate these types of deals. Prefer stock for stock, no cash.
