Inflation fears cooled slightly last month, according to a new report by the New York Federal Reserve.

In June, respondents of the New York Fed’s Survey of Consumer Expectations said that they expect inflation to be at X% one year from now – down from XXX% in May.

The median three- and five-year expectations remained at X% and XXX% respectively.

However, respondents also noted that they foresee an increase in the cost of some expenses, such as gas, medical care, college and rent, but expect food costs to remain the same.

This comes as the Federal Reserve continues to watch how tariffs are potentially impacting inflation before determining when a potential rate cut may occur.
