Fun fact: the US Gov contracted General Electric to investigate cloud seeding in a project led by Nobel Laureate Irving Langmuir in the late 1940s.

It was so effective it redirected a hurricane from the Atlantic back into Georgia, although some meteorologists said it would've changed direction anyway, Irving Langmuir quit the project altogether feeling absolutely certain the hurricane damage was entirely his fault.
