Police launched a manhunt and quickly traced Jason’s movements. Several hours later, officers located him driving on Interstate XX near Joliet, Illinois. When they attempted to stop him, he led police on a 17-minute high-speed chase. He eventually crashed his car on a bridge.

After the crash, Jason told officers he was responsible for what happened at the house and had tried to harm himself afterward. He was arrested at the scene without further resistance and transported for medical evaluation before being booked into Lake County Jail.
