@monetaryskeptic The rise of gold IS the deleveraging.  That's what lots of investors miss, esp. "Milkshake" adherents.

Said differently, take gold to $10,000=20,000, and the only pain would be on the real values of USD-denominated bonds (& other fiat bonds.)
