Most major producers are landlocked - Saskatchewan, Russia, Belarus - and rely on long, costly logistics chains. Banio sits right on the coast of Gabon, with direct access to tidewater and global export markets. It’s also amenable to solution mining, which means lower opex and capex than traditional underground mines - it's a massive edge. The scale and thickness here are also on another level. Recent holes hit up to XXX metres of potash cycles - show me another deposit with that kind of intercept. The potash-bearing horizon is open over an 8+ km strike, and most of the land package remains undrilled. Geopolitically, it doesn’t get more strategic. Gabon is stable, neutral, and offers low-cost shipping to both East and West. According to management, the U.S. and China already want to acquire the asset - both aware of what this could mean for fertilizer security and supply chains. Once permitted (fast-tracked by government) and shovel-ready (feasibility / financing) - it’s hard not to see Banio being caught in a bidding war.
