If VOLs aren't' worried, why should you be? The July $VX premium to VIX has been cut from X vols to X vol after this morning's VIX jump, but with only a little over a week until July VX expires, the gap was going to close one way or another. The fact that August VX is about flat on the day tells the more important story - VOLs are chill. Elsewhere, rates are higher across the Treasury curve, which is helping the Dollar bounce, which is pressuring metals lower if you're into that sorta thing. Equities haven't cared much about rates for a while so no reason to think the rates move is affecting them this morning.
