I had a WL spot to mint X for us (in the country i was living in) it was going to mint at X am no problem, bought a few energy drinks and met at a friends house, there was X of us. Yuga Labs had assured that WL would not be oversubscribed so all good. Had wallet loaded up with XXX eth and XXX apecoin or whatever it cost (can't remember) around X hours before mint we see a dune dashboard that says it is oversubscribed by about 20%, slight panic sets in but surely my XXX eth is enough right mint starts and we wait a bit, it's 100k supply so we have time to monitor, gas to mint was like X eth but surely it's just whales rushing after around XX mins or something when XX% supply was minted we say fuck it we gotta go in, we submit our transactions. Stuck we wait for them to complete but nothing happens, we're all getting panicked now cause they are selling for XX ETH each on Opensea and we can't get ours one of my friend gets his at around 90%, me and the other still stuck. He is now visibly getting pissed off and stood up pacing back and forth. I thought he would punch his wall or something earlier we were trying to help each other but now it was every man for himself. I don't have ETH to speed up the transaction however so I am screwed I call another IRL friend who didn't have WL, he was drunk as shit around X am after clubbing and picks up. I tell him send whatever ETH you have right fucking now he asks 1-2 questions obviously concerned, but I assure him he will get it back I need to mint this shit he sends me X eth ($500 gas just for the transfer) and I manage to speed up my TX and mint mine, at XX% of supply minted quickly check my other friends laptop and he has screwed up the nonce on his tx somehow, quickly fix it and he gets his last second, I believe it was one of the last XXX I see they are selling for X eth on Opensea and instajeet both, walked away with around XX ETH, 12-13 ETH profit and ETH was trading close to $4000 we are tired as fuck so we basically say gz to each other and call it a night.
