It received the temporary designation A11pl3Z. It moves along a hyperbolic trajectory, which clearly indicates its interstellar origin. It does not exhibit cometary activity and does not have a tail. However, Oumuamua also did not have a tail, which did not prevent it from demonstrating anomalous acceleration, the nature of which is still debated. We are waiting for new data and clarifications, in October it will be closest to us! Yesterday, astronomers discovered the third interstellar object in the Solar System.
It received the temporary designation A11pl3Z. It moves along a hyperbolic trajectory, which clearly indicates its interstellar origin.
It does not exhibit cometary activity and does not have a tail. However, Oumuamua also did not have a tail, which did not prevent it from demonstrating anomalous acceleration, the nature of which is still debated.
