In my opinion, countries like Brazil, Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Egypt, etc, should be at the center of our focus. These nations share structural, developmental and demographic similarities with Nigeria, such as populations, emerging economies and the collective ambition to lift millions out of poverty.

We stand to gain far more through mutual learning, trade collaboration, technology transfer and policy exchange with these countries than we have over the many decades of heavily investing diplomatic attention in nations whose realities differ widely from ours.
