.@VDHanson: This July 4th, Remember American Exceptionalism

When the Second Continental Congress formally disbanded the original XX Colonies from Great Britain on July 4, 1776, the great American Experiment began. 

XXX years later, we are reminded just how unique and exceptional the United States of America is. Unlike other British commonwealths, like New Zealand and Canada, our Founders, shaped by the crucible of the Revolutionary War, came up with a tripartite system of governance based on the principles set forth by Montesquieu, Sparta and ancient Rome.
