This is Syria. This is Damascus. 
An underage girl, pregnant after being raped. Begging for money. 
You can imagine who the perpetrators were. 

Instead of having extravagant events across Syria, with light shows and helicopters circling over crowds - instead of renovating every office building: 
Build an orphanage with the allocated budget for the most vulnerable parts of the Syrian Society. 

A government has to set priorities and a government must serve its people. That is what a government does. 
So whenever we criticise a government, our criticism comes from the huge amounts of crimes we monitor&track and the observation that the government prioritises nonsense signalling events over caring for its citizens. 

But of course, when most people get their news about Syria from folks who mindlessly glorify the current government - you won’t see these crimes nor the huge amount of crimes.
