Cher Ami, a homing pigeon during WW1 was awarded the French Croix de Guerre with palm for his Heroic service during the Battle of Verdun. He was shot in the leg and breast by enemy fire during his mission. He made it back to the loft and saved the lives of XXX men from the “Lost Battalion”
