$NKE $ADDYY Writing in a note to clients on Thursday, analysts at UBS flagged that worries over Nike’s comeback have contributed to a period of underperformance in shares of German rival Adidas (OTC:ADDYY). Over the past three months, Nike shares have climbed by roughly 13%, while Adidas’s stock price has slumped by around 8%.
"That said, we have yet to see any concrete evidence that Nike poses a risk to Adidas momentum as, in our view, Adidas is now a fundamentally better company given a superior product pipeline, while Nike is still in the process of rebuilding its own," the brokerage said.
They argued that Adidas is "a stock to own for the long haul."
