Ethiopia’s PM Abiy Ahmed announced the Grand Renaissance Dam will open in September, becoming Africa’s largest hydroelectric plant. 

Built on the Blue Nile, the project alarms Egypt and Sudan, who fear it threatens their water supply. 

Years of talks have failed.
